Demagnetization tunnels of the ETT range are designed to be used on a table.
With instrument types ETT 150 – ETT 550 current is applied to the coil by means of an ON-OFF switch. When the coil is fed with A.C. the demagnetization effect is achieved by slowly drawing the test piece through the field of the demagnetization coil in the direction of the coil axis.
The penetrant depth of the 50 Hz A.C. field is approx. 2 mm. To get a bigger penetrant depth, low-frequency generators with 16 2/3 Hz can be provided for each demagnetizing tunnel.
