Single Purpose HI-LO
Measures internal alignment and rootweld spacing. Simply insert the wires into the root gap spacing, rotate the gauge 90° while applying constant back pressure to the barrel and lock the retaining screw. When the red line alligns with the 1/32nd increment you have a good internal alignment. Misalignments are determined from the zero line by increments of 1/16th of an inch.
To measure rootweld spacing, insert the gauge interior alignment stops between the pipes. Insert the long taper leg into the root gap until it makes contact with both sides of the gap. Lock the retaining screw, remove the gauge and read it. This readout represents the amount of rootweld gap. Also available with metric readouts.
